Happy Hats

We have issues everyday at school with children not being able to find their hats.
Happily, however, we have a solution thanks to a creative mum!
I will be sending hats home on Friday so the children can sew on a button, badge or any other easy form of identification. Here are our happy hats!

What a Fun Friday!
We started with breakfast at school, followed by a Powhiri to welcome our new teachers, students and parents and then enjoyed being allowed to ride our wheels at playtime and lunchtime.

We wrote a class poem based on the book Te Tio Bay.
Hope you like it!
Waikanae School
The children play,
the children play,
down at Waikanae School.
They scream and shout,
they scream and shout,
down at Waikanae School.
They eat their lunch,
they eat their lunch,
down at Waikanae School.
They read and write,
they read and write,
down at Waikanae School.
Hometime now!

Class of 2016

Kia Ora Tatou!
Welcome to our class blog.
This week we have been getting to know each other and learning about the Treaty of Waitangi.
A treaty is a set of rules that everyone agrees to and promises to keep.
We made a class treaty.
Our rules are:
Treat others nicely.
Treat our classroom with respect.
Get permission from the teacher to leave the classroom.
All the children signed the treaty.
